Axway Application Studio 1.2 release notes

Axway Application Studio combines development and operations in one product. It is a rapid application-development environment for building web applications that implement business processes. It also is an application operations environment for business users.

Installing and upgrading

The Axway Application Studio Installation Guide has information about installing and upgrading the product. See Related documentation for where to get it.

New features and enhancements

The following are new key features of Application Studio.

Support for Oracle RAC and Oracle Linux

This version adds support for Oracle RAC 11g Release 2 high-failover database clustering and the Oracle Linux 5.10 operating system.

Application users can save forms as drafts

Forms you design for your applications by default have buttons that let application users save partially completed forms so they can return later and complete and submit the forms. You can disable the save-as-draft button on selected forms.

Known issues

The following are known issues in this version.

Server requires manual start on Linux

The script /etc/init.d/appstudio that is supposed to start Application Studio automatically when a Linux computer starts does not work. You must start Application Studio manually by running start-appStudio.sh in the installation directory.

Datasource profile settings not copied to datalist binder selection

When you select to create a datalist for any application, and select the datalist's source of data as JDBC Datalist Database Binder, the Datasource drop-down list first indicates Custom Datasource, and shows parameters for a fictional example custom datasource. If you then instead select Default Datasource from the list, the displayed parameter values do not change, but the global profile values are in effect as displayed at System Settings > Datasource & Profile Settings. If desired, you can copy the settings at System Settings > Datasource & Profile Settings to the JDBC Default Datasource dialog. (D-70951)

Possible process image generation failure

If Application Studio is accessed by using a server alias configured in the local hosts file, the generation of the workflow diagram image will fail. If this occurs, access the user interface with a URL in the following format:

https://<host>/appstudio/web/login

Where <host> is the fully qualified domain name or IP address of the computer running Application Studio. (D-63076)

Use load balancer URL for cluster nodes

Using URLs other than the standard URL https://ip/appstudio (for example, https://ip/appstudio/web/login) fail to redirect to the load balancer in a cluster environment. Users must access the cluster via the load balancer URL. (D-65716)

Restart nodes to update file upload size limit across cluster

If you are running in a cluster environment and change the File Upload Size Limit field at System Settings > General Settings on one node, restart all nodes for the change to become effective across the cluster. (D-66629, D-66402)

MySQL database case sensitivity

MySQL database on Windows is case insensitive. MySQL database on Linux is case sensitive. To create applications in Application Studio compatible in Windows and Linux, treat all names as case sensitive. (D-71910)
